This new tool developed by Eurostat replies to the needs of those who are not familiar with the energy sector, but who would like to better understand the challenges the Energy Union initiative is facing. For more experienced users, the whole energy process – from source to final use – is presented in a very detailed way in a user-friendly Sankey-diagram.

Who is Who of the Energiewende in Germany

The Energiewende is Germany’s path to a secure, environmentally friendly and economically successful future. It represents the decision to fully overhaul Germany‘s energy supply, moving away from nuclear energy in favour of renewable energy sources. The aim is that by 2030, half of the country’s energy supply will be provided by the sun, wind etc.

With the “Profile of the German Water Sector 2015” the ATT, BDEW, DVGW, DBVW, DWA and VKU in consultation with the German Association of Cities (Deutscher Städtetag – DST) and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund – DStGB) provide an up-to-date picture of water supply and wastewater disposal in Germany. It gives the interested public and decision makers extensive, detailed information about the water sector’s performance, the great variety of its tasks and the current challenges it faces.

Das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie und das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung haben Anfang August den Startschuss für die Forschungsinitiative "Zukunftsfähige Stromnetze" gegeben. Insgesamt sind 83 Vorhaben mit einem Gesamtfördervolumen von etwa 157 Millionen Euro für eine Förderung durch die beiden Ministerien ausgewählt worden.
